Unity Design Group provides practical electrical safety and arc flash training designed around the real-world needs of your team. Our courses help employees understand electrical hazards, recognize risks, and develop safer practices when working with or around electrical equipment.
With three training options available, we can provide the right level of instruction for your team—from employees who work near electrical equipment to personnel who work directly with energized systems.
Every course includes hands-on components and is taught by engineers who bring both theoretical knowledge and real-world electrical experience to the classroom.
Electrical safety training is most effective when employees can understand not only what to do, but why it matters.
Our courses combine classroom instruction with hands-on learning to help participants connect electrical safety concepts to real-world situations. Students have consistently found the hands-on portions of our training to be one of the most valuable parts of the experience.
Training can be held on-site at your workplace or facility, allowing our instructors to tailor the course to your team’s environment and equipment. We also offer the option to host training at the Unity Design Group office in Modesto, California.
Our courses are taught by engineers with experience applying electrical concepts in the field—not simply presenting them in a classroom. This allows us to connect theory, equipment, hazards, and safe practices in a way that is practical and easy to understand.
These courses are especially helpful for:
Unity Design Group offers three electrical training options based on your team’s responsibilities, experience level, and interaction with electrical equipment.
8-Hour
Designed for personnel who work on or around energized electrical equipment, this comprehensive course covers common causes of arc flash, PPE requirements and proper donning and doffing, understanding arc flash labels and reports, emergency response, and preventative maintenance practices. The course also addresses regulatory and legal compliance, including OSHA, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 70B, and is ideal for personnel who require recurring electrical safety training.
8-Hour
Designed for plant personnel, maintenance staff, and supervisors with little or no formal electrical training, this course provides a strong foundation in electrical safety while reinforcing practical experience with essential theory. Participants learn to identify common electrical equipment, understand basic electrical concepts including volts, amps, and ohms, recognize workplace hazards, and respond appropriately during electrical emergencies.
4-Hour
Designed for employees who do not directly interact with electrical equipment but regularly work nearby, this course focuses on how to safely work around electrical systems and recognize potential hazards. Participants learn practical precautions, including keeping objects away from electrical equipment, maintaining proper clearances, avoiding improper water exposure, and preventing dust or debris from being blown into equipment.
At Unity Design Group, electrical safety training goes beyond simply reviewing rules and regulations. Our courses combine hands-on learning with real-world electrical experience to help employees understand the concepts behind electrical safety and apply them in the workplace.
When you work with Unity Design Group, you get:
Our goal is to give your team the knowledge, practical experience, and confidence they need to work more safely around electrical equipment.
One of the most valuable parts of our electrical safety courses is the opportunity to learn by doing.
Hands-on exercises give participants the chance to work with electrical concepts and equipment in a controlled training environment. Rather than simply hearing about electrical principles, students can see how those principles work and connect classroom concepts to practical applications.
This approach helps reinforce the material and gives employees a stronger understanding of the safety practices they’re expected to follow.
Whether your employees work directly with energized equipment or simply work in areas where electrical equipment is present, the right training can help create a safer and more informed workplace.
Unity Design Group offers three levels of electrical safety training to help you find the right fit for your team.
Arc flash training helps employees understand the hazards associated with energized electrical equipment, including arc flash risks, shock hazards, safety awareness, and safe work practices.
Arc flash safety training is helpful for maintenance teams, facility staff, supervisors, safety managers, industrial employees, and anyone who works near electrical equipment or systems.
Unity Design Group offers flexible training locations to accommodate your team. Courses can be held on-site at your workplace or facility, or at the Unity Design Group office in Modesto, California.
The basic course is designed for teams that need an introduction to electrical safety concepts. The comprehensive course provides a deeper look at arc flash safety and workplace electrical hazards.
